The Paintbrush Dreamer
The Paintbrush Dreamer is the story of my lifelong dream to live among the birds, the deer and the wildflowers coming true. I expressed my lifelong wish over 15 years ago in a painting of a winding creek in the winter woods. My dream came true as I discovered the first time I sat down to paint in my current studio. I paused to look out the window and ran to look at the painting framed over my bed. I realized that the painting of the winter woods from years ago was identical to the view out my window in my little house in the forest down to each tree, rock, and the curve of the creek. My paintbrush knew. I dreamed, I painted, I wished and here I am. Listen carefully to your heart, follow your path forward, and be a “paintbrush dreamer” with me.
I am a wildlife artist, a teacher, a mother, a grandmother and wife, but above all, I am a wanderer. My true home is in the woods, where I feel at peace and in touch with the spirit of the earth. I study the unique lighting and palette of each new day. The subdued silver purples of winter dawn, the vibrant pinks of summer sunrise, the sound of the hermit thrush are what inspire me to paint and write. Each day brings a new set of possibilities, colors, sounds, feelings and ideas to express through art. My family and friends know I disappear at sunrise and wander and when I return I have stories to tell and paintings in my heart. I invite you to greet each morning as a gift, listen to the trees, and honor your dreams.
